I'm not sure how to start this blog post, but I've done more substantial updates on this site in the past couple days than most of last year since the site was born. There's a few reasons for this. Firstly, I graduated from high school in 2019 so you can imagine how many things I was looking forward to that had to be put on hold last year. Sure, that gave me far more free time but I think anyone who lived through 2020 would know how demotivating of a year it really was. Another reason is I have finally gotten help for my ADHD that somehow went undiagnosed all the way up until very recently. I started taking meds a few days ago and I can finally sit down and work on something for longer than 15 minutes without forgetting what I'm doing, which in the context of this site, translates to updates that are no longer tiny tweaks or unfinished for long stretches of time.
Some bad news now, I'm putting that dressup game mentioned in the last post on indefinite hiatus. University is back in full swing as of tomorrow and the workload is going to hit me like a ton of bricks. This may also affect the frequency of site updates either positively or negatively, depending on what my brain feels like doing during my off time. Either way, I think I have a better vision of what I want to do on here now, and I have some fun features planned. One i've already partially implemented is a guide to lolita fashion, as I thought it would be useful information for people who have stumbled across the homepages of other lolitas on neocities and liked what they saw, but didn't know what it was or where to start. There's also a small indie game I played recently that I think deserves a review, so look out for that sometime.

I'm definitely not the only one who's been distressed by current events, but I'm not going to write about them because honestly I just don't want to think about them anymore. Instead I've started making a simple dress up game to add to this site! Since last year I've been adding to a pinterest board full of pictures of clothes that I like that I come across while browsing second-hand markets online, particularly depop and mercari. I think I'm going to draw some of those clothes to go into the dress up game. As of writing this post I've only made the body bases in 5 different skin tones, but I'm excited to keep going. I'm not sure If i'm going to hard-code the game into the website or use the meiker.io engine, the art style is pixel art and I'm not sure how well meiker can preserve that. We'll see. Also I'm planning on adding to the links section soon so keep an eye out for that!
Hello! Welcome to my blog!
I've wanted to start a neocities website for a variety of reasons, but it probably wouldn't have happened if the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 hadn't left me unemployed with little university work. Building the website so far has already given me more feelings of fulfilment than the probably 1000s of hours I've poured into Minecraft over the past 6 months, so that's nice. It feels good to have made a primitive yet cute website from scratch, having started with absolutely zero knowledge of html beyond occasionally amusing myself with the inspect element tool by replacing images on news websites with memes.
I get scared of the whole numbers aspect of modern social media sites, especially if someone I think is cooler than me starts following me I kind of freeze up because I know they're watching, no matter how many times I try to tell myself they followed me for a reason. Blogs are cool because you don't get caught up in analytics, it's really just a digital open diary.
Some of the things you can expect to see in this blog section are:
- Meetup pics
- Poorly documented diy projects
- Haul and wardrobe posts
- The occasional video game review
- Lolita and jfashion history spotlights, probably in the form of magazine scanlations.
- Vintage weebshit
- Cats I meet while out on a walk
I look forward to posting here! Thanks for reading!
